The Education Department is preparing to release a solicitation for the 2013 Small Business Innovation Research Program Phase I Games on Dec. 17. The awards go up to $150,000 for six months to establish the usability of a prototype and initial feasibility of a concept. The goal is to create games for learning, including learning of English and foreign language and of statistics. The solicitation number on FBO.gov is ED-IES-13-R-0008. The program is a total small business set-aside.
The Education Department’s Federal Student Aid Office issued a Sources Sought notice on Dec. 3 asking for information about small businesses capable of operating and maintaining component areas of an enterprise information technology architecture. Component areas include integrated technical architecture, enterprise service bus, access and identity management system and enterprise business collaboration. The office wants to hear from 8(a), HUBZone, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, woman-owned and small disadvantaged businesses. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command issued a Sources Sought Notice on Dec. 3 seeking information from small businesses that can provide services for personal protective equipment and garments in a 100-mile radius of Washington, DC.
