The U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Fort Benning, GA, announced it will be advertising soon for small businesses to support the U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Lee, VA. The contract will be for one base year and four option years, with an estimated total value of $100 million if all options are exercised.
The set-aside will be available only for women-owned, 8(a), HUBZone and service-disabled veteran-owned firms. The contractor will repair and construct facilities.
The solicitation will be a Low-Price, Technically Acceptable format.
The Request for Proposals is anticipated shortly, and proposals will be due within 30 days after the RFP is released.

The Navy is preparing a new solicitation valued at up to $5 billion over five years for operations support for the Naval Air Warfare Center, according to a Deltek analyst quoted by the Washington Post in a recent article.
The center has a broad mission including intelligence and counter-trafficking of weapons, drugs and people. An as-yet-unspecified portion will be set aside for small businesses in a separate track.
A draft solicitation is expected by year’s end.

The State Department is expected to release an RFP for its HITSS II (Hybrid Information Technology Services for State) small-business set-aside contract in December, according to Deltek.
Deltek estimates the ceiling value could be $2.1 billion, with an award in June 2013. The primary NAICS code for HITSS II is 541519.
Services include systems and software analysis and development; document analysis and computer programming, as well as network support. It also includes automatic data processing (ADP) support including maintenance and security and Local/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) support.
