New Rule for Facilities Support Firms

SBA announced an increase in the size standard for the facilities support services industry, NAICS code 561210. The current $6 million standard is being raised to $30 million. The size standard for the sub-category of Base Maintenance is being increased from $23 million to $30 million. The changes are effective Nov. 14.

“These increased standards better define the size of businesses in this industry that the SBA believes should be eligible for Federal small business assistance programs,” the agency said in a notice in the Oct. 15 Federal Register. The final rule also changes the title of “Base Housing Maintenance’’ under NAICS code 238990 to “Building and Property Specialty Trade Services’’ to better identify the type of activities that fall under this category.

The rule is FR Doc 03-26036.
