Army Faulted on CPARS
An audit report by the Defense Department’s Inspector General states that officials at five major Army contracting offices “did not consistently comply with requirements for evaluating contractor past performance when preparing 56 PARs.” Problems included late completion, insufficient written narratives, and failure to register a portion of the contracts into CPARS.
FAR enters 21st century
On June 6, GSA published proposed rules to delete references to use of telegraphic messages for contract administration. Contracting staff may now use “electronic means” to notify contractors of terminations and other actions. “This case ... supports the needs of a 21st century Government,” according to the notice. Comments are due August 5.
NetCents 2 SB $$ increased
Ceiling levels for twelve small businesses who won pieces of the Air Force’s Network Centric Solutions-2 Application Services Small Business Companion contract were raised by $88 million last week.The IDIQ contract was originally awarded in 2012. Use of Netcents-2 is mandatory on Air Force. There is an additional small business pool for Netops and Infrastructure.
