8(a) STARS II Taps 599 Contractors

GSA has chosen 599 IT firms for its 8(a) STARS II set-aside governmentwide acquisition contract.

The awards were announced July 29. Just a month earlier, GSA had told offerors to revise their bids “in an effort to get more competitive pricing,” said Mary Davie, assistant commissioner of the Office of Integrated Technology Solutions, in a statement at the time.

STARS II is a task order contract for IT with a ceiling of $10 billion.

The STARS GWAC produced “robust competition,” according to Misty Claypole, the contracting officer at GSA’s Small Business GWAC Center in Kansas City, MO.

A list of the awardees is available at www.setasidealert.com/8astarsIIawards.pdf.
