Vendors to be rated on cyber
The Defense Dept. has a plan to rate all federal vendors on their cybersecurity acumen under its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program over the next year.
DOD officials said at recent events that they will rate contractors and subcontractors from 1 to 5 on their cyber proficiency. All contractors and subcontractors must have at least a “1” rating.
Terms for each rating are expected to start showing up in contract documents in mid-2020.
