The Department of Energy has scheduled an information conference June 18 on its plan to compete a contract for management and operational support at the Idaho National Laboratory. The 5-year, $3 billion contract held by Bechtel is due to expire in September 2004. Secretary Spencer Abraham ordered acquisition planners to identify opportunities for small businesses to participate in both the cleanup work and the long-term operation of the laboratory.
