MAC contracts keep on expanding: report
The government’s Multiple-Award Contract (MAC) spending rose to $125 billion in fiscal 2017, from $113 billion the year before, according to a report from Bloomberg Government.
By percentage, MAC obligations increased to 24.3%, from 23.7%.
Civilian use of MACs grew to $55 billion in fiscal 2017, up from $50 billion in fiscal 2016.
And 981 companies won 80% of MAC dollars in fiscal 2017, Bloomberg reported in a recent webinar.

VA suspends processing of new verifications
The VA’s Center for Verification and Evaluation and OSDBU suspended processing of new applications for verification or reverification as a veteran-owned small business on May 21 for what they expect to be about 30 days.
The purpose of the suspension was to transition to the new online Vendor Information Pages to support the Vets First Verification Program. The new Web pages aim to offer better tools for an enhanced online experience.
The VA predicted the suspension would last for about 30 days, which means the new vendor pages should be online by late June.

Linda McMahon sits for in-depth interview
SBA Administrator Linda McMahon sat down for one of her longest and most insightful interviews with online tech newspaper “recode.”
One of the main topics was President Donald Trump and his controversies. McMahon showed she is clearly a strong supporter of Trump, even in the face of some tough questions.
She mentioned contracting only once, very briefly.
