The Department of Labor has two new online guides to help employers comply with employment laws and regulations.

The FirstStep Employment Law Advisor, available at www.dol.gov/elaws, is an interactive Internet tool that helps employers determine which laws apply to them and offers information on how to comply. It is searchable by topic, from “Accident” to “Youth.”

The Employment Law Guide at www.dol.gov/compliance describes the department’s main regulations in easy-to-understand language that employers can use to develop wage, benefit, safety and health and nondiscrimination policies for their businesses. It includes links to compliance tools such as Small Business Compliance Assistance and the National Call Center for those who prefer talking to clicking.

Employers can obtain a free printed copy, in English or Spanish, by calling 1-866-4-USA-DOL.
