GSA: schedules need transformation
The General Services Administration’s $33 billion Multiple-Award Schedules program “now demands transformation” to deliver best value, Jeffrey Koses, GSA senior procurement executive, wrote in a recent entry in the GSA Blog (http://gsablogs.gsa.gov/gsablog/tag/policy/).
Goals include reducing price variability and red tape and adding flexibilities, he added.
Recent changes underway to increase value include proposing the Transactional Data Reporting Rule to require reporting of prices paid; proposing a class deviation for some commercial supplier agreements and user agreements; making it easier to order materials in task orders; and incorporating language into the Federal Acquisition Regulation on “fair and reasonable pricing,” Koses wrote.
