The Defense Acquisition Regulations Directorate is taking steps to move its rulemaking online. The new procedures make it easier for the public to submit and view comments on proposed revisions to the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement.

Public comments on proposed revisions to the DFARS may now be submitted directly on the Web by typing comments or attaching documents at http://emissary.acq.osd.mil/dar/dfars.nsf/pubcomm.  The Directorate says the website “is now the preferred method of submitting comments.”

The public can now view comments on proposed DFARS revisions online at http://emissary.acq.osd.mil/dar/dfars.nsf. Comments will be posted the day after a comment period closes.

The Directorate is instituting a test where public comments received for DFARS Case 2001-D017 will be posted within 48 hours after they are received
