Congress votes on “Fair Pay”
Republicans majorities in Congress voted for a measure to cancel former President Obama’s “Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces” order. The order required federal contractors, for contracts over $500,000, to report their labor law violations. Officials would decide if the violations merited penalties. Contractors strongly objected to the possibility of “blacklisting.”
The order was temporarily blocked by a court decision. Trump is expected to sign the cancellation.
