Trump’s wall could help small contractors

Estimated cost is $15B-$38B

President Trump’s plan to build a wall at the Mexican border with the United States could boost contractors and subcontractors that support fencing, concrete and other construction.

The cost of the wall is estimated at $15 billion to $38 billion.

If the wall is made of chain link fencing, the top three federal contractors for Homeland Security Dept. fencing in recent years have been Purgatory Fence Co., Marriott Fence Construction Inc., and PCM & S.L. Plota Co., according to Bloomberg Government.

Federal construction contractors including Bechtel Group Inc., BL Harbert International Inc. and Caddell Construction Co. may be in the competition, Bloomberg said.
