RS Information Systems Is Acquired

RS Information Systems, a fast-growing IT contractor, agreed to be acquired by Wyle, an aerospace engineering company.

Terms were not announced. Both companies are privately held.

RSIS of McLean, VA, is majority-owned by its co-founder and CEO, Rodney Hunt. It is a graduated 8(a) firm founded in 1992.

RSIS was ranked as the 49th largest government contractor by Washington Technology magazine this year, with an estimated $328 million in revenues from federal work. The company says it has 1,400 employees and more than 100 federal contracts.

“In RSIS, Wyle has found a partner that diversifies and expands its capabilities and customer base,” the companies said in a statement. “As a premier IT contractor to the federal government, RSIS was a natural choice for Wyle to complement their Defense and NASA service offerings and move into the civilian agency arena.”

Wyle said the acquisition will increase its annual revenues to about $800 million.

Wyle, also known as Wyle Laboratories, is headquartered in El Segundo, CA. It is controlled by Littlejohn & Co., a private equity firm.
