Making GSA schedules cost-reimbursable
The General Services Administration is considering adding a cost-reimbursable contract option to its multiple award schedules.
Tom Sharpe, the commissioner of GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service, confirmed the option is being considered, Federal Times reported.
Larry Allen, president of Allen Federal Business Partners, said Sharpe’s comments show “the initiative has support and at least some momentum.”
Adding a cost-plus feature to schedules is important to the Pentagon, which has a preference for cost-plus or firm-fixed price contracts and the schedules can now only accommodate fixed-price and the less popular time-and-material approach, Allen wrote in a blog.
