Shutdown uncertainty lingers
The 29 House and Senate budget negotiators have begun meeting on a spending and deficit deal, and some lawmakers made it clear they want to avoid another government shutdown.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told The Hill he would not allow another government shutdown as a strategy to repeal ObamaCare (http://goo.gl/HNKm2O).
Budget uncertainty and “damage limitation mode” are likely to continue, Frank Kendall, Defense undersecretary for acquisition, said at a conference on Oct. 30, FCW reported (http://goo.gl/Gq3qaM).
Meanwhile, large contract vehicles including NASA’s “SEWP” and GSA’s “OASIS” were delayed by the shutdown. Some contractors are dealing with administrative snafus in lifting stop-work orders (http://goo.gl/83rNUe).
