New guidance on per diems
The government changed its per diem rates on Oct. 1, and now the Defense Contract Audit Agency has issued additional guidance for contractors.
The General Services Administration raised the standard lodging per diem rates for the first time in three years, according to MeetingsNet. For fiscal year 2014, the standard per diem for a hotel room rose to $83, from $77.
However, the GSA also eliminated the 25% extra that previously was allowed for conferences.
The Defense Contract Audit Agency issued guidance clarifying that contractor expenses must be audited as a whole with a single ceiling rate for lodging, meals and incidentals combined, according to Aronson LLC.
