WOSB certs lagging: OIG

The Small Business Administration’s beta.certify.SBA.gov system launched in October 2020 to process certifications of Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs) has had technical problems resulting in “slow progress” within the last year, according to a report by SBA Inspector General Hannibal “Mike” Ware.

To date, about 15,000 applications for WOSB certification have been submitted, with 3,242 approved and 87 denied, the report said, and about 12,000 were returned for more information.
