On Oct. 1, CR or shutdown?
The House has passed 10 of the 12 appropriations bills for fiscal 2021 to date; the Senate has passed none.
Talks have started among Congressional leaders and the White House for a short-term funding measure to avoid a government shutdown once the fiscal year begins on Oct. 1.
The Continuing Resolution would last beyond the Nov. 3 presidential election, but the time period has not been set. GOP leaders reportedly are pushing for a CR into December. That would allow GOP control of the 2021 budget, regardless of what voters decide.
