Sequestration breakdown: Agency by Agency
Total civilian agency spending would decline $39 billion, from $551 billion to $512 billion, under sequestration, according to a Professional Services Council analysis.
The budget cuts to departments include $6.2 billion to Health and Human Services; $5.3 billion to Education; $4.3 billion to small agencies, intelligence programs and disaster relief; $3.4 billion to State; $3.1 billion to Homeland Security; $2.8 billion to Housing and Urban Development; $2.1 billion to Energy; $2.1 billion to Justice; $1.7 billion to Agriculture; $1.4 billion to NASA; $1.1 billion to Transportation; $1 billion to Labor; $1 billion to Treasury; $700 million to Commerce; and $700 million to the Environmental Protection Agency. Veterans Affairs would be unaffected.
