GSA: Alliant Small Business GWAC Coming In December

GSA officials say they are on schedule to award the $15 billion Alliant Small Business governmentwide acquisition contract in December.

The agency has said up to 60 companies may win spots on the contract.

Alliant program manager Jim Ghiloni also urged small firms to seek subcontracting opportunities with companies on the full and open Alliant GWAC, which was awarded in July.

The main Alliant contract sets a 50% small business subcontracting requirement, the largest of any government contracting vehicle.

Alliant primes “are free to team with any company,” Ghiloni told an industry audience in McLean, VA, Sept. 6. “I think it’s a huge opportunity for small businesses to participate in Alliant as teammates with the primes.”

GSA chose 29 large and mid-sized businesses for Alliant. Officials said eight losing offerors have filed protests, but Ghiloni said he expects the Government Accountability Office to resolve them by mid-December.

He said GSA has begun training its personnel to use the new GWAC and reaching out to customer agencies to educate them.
