Small Vendors Win Office Supply BPA

Small office supply vendors won 11 of 13 blanket purchase agreements awarded under the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative.

In announcing the awards, GSA said the small firms are 8(a), woman-owned and veteran-owned businesses. They will compete for more than $300 million annually in federal office supply purchases.

More than 20 agencies are participating in the Strategic Sourcing Initiative, pooling their buying power to get lower prices.

As part of the initiative, GSA announced plans to remove office supplies from its Global Supply Stock Program. Several members of congressional small business committees have urged the agency not to do that until Congress can study the impact on small vendors.

Other commodities targeted in the first round of the strategic sourcing push are copiers, printers, domestic delivery services and handheld wireless devices and services. Members of an interagency task force have said other products may be added to the initiative later.

Small business winners of the blanket purchase agreement are:

Metro Office Products
Adams Marketing
George W. Allen Co.
Veterans Imaging Products
Future Solutions Inc.
Stephens Office Supply
Impac Office Supplies
SITA Business Systems Inc.
IS. Group Inc.
Imaging Systems
Miller’s Office Products.

Large business awardees are Staples and Corporate Express.
