McNeil Owner Sells Controlling Stake to Investors

A leading African American entrepreneur in federal contracting, James McNeil, has sold a majority interest in his company, McNeil Technologies, to a New York investment firm, Veritas Capital Fund II LP

Veritas bought the stake for an undisclosed sum. McNeil Technologies of Springfield, VA, is a consulting, security, information management and language services contractor. Black Enterprise magazine ranked it 80th among U.S. black-owned businesses last year.

James McNeil said Veritas plans to use the company as a vehicle to acquire other firms.

McNeil Technologies’ revenues totaled $52 million in 2003. James McNeil said he expects to grow to $300 million in revenue by 2006 and near $500 million in 2007.

James McNeil founded the company in 1985. It was certified in SBA’s Small and Disadvantaged Business program in 1991.
