Contractor Executives Plead Guilty

Two former top executives of defense contractor Information Systems Support Inc. pleaded guilty July 25 to conflict of interest charges. The Maryland U.S. attorney, Rod Rosenstein, said the charges related to illegal job negotiations with an Army colonel who was in charge of military contracting in South Korea.

Young Y. Lee of Rockville, MD, the Gaithersburg, MD, company’s former CEO, and Lorn J. MacUmber of Gypsum, CO, each face a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Prosecutors said the colonel rigged a contract award for ISS and later agreed to work for the company. He pleaded guilty to bribery and is serving a prison term.
