Small biz scorecard for FY2021
Small business prime awards totaled $154.2 billion
The federal government exceeded its small business procurement goal for the ninth year in a row in fiscal 2021, the Small Business Administration announced on July 26.
Small business prime awards reached 27.23% of eligible contracts, surpassing the 23% goal and totaling $154.2 billion in fiscal 2021, a record high. That was an increase from $145.7 billion, and 26.5% of the total, the year before.
Small Disadvantaged Businesses won 11.01% of fiscal 2021 contracts, totaling $62.4 billion. Service-disabled veteran-owned small firms were awarded 4.41%, totaling $25 billion. Women-owned reached 4.63%, falling short of the 5% goal. Likewise, HUBZone firms achieved 2.53%, also short of their goal.
Total contract spending hit $636 billion, second highest after 2020’s total.
