8(a) Firm Will Support Terrorist Screening for Homeland Security

Thomas & Herbert Consulting LLC, an 8(a) firm in Silver Spring, MD, has won a $30 million contract to provide technical support to the Department of Homeland Security.

T&H and its support team, including BearingPoint Inc. and SRA International, will support information sharing between Homeland Security’s Terrorist Threat Integration Center and other agencies.

The contract is a one-year blanket purchase agreement with four one-year options. T&H said the initial task order under the BPA will focus on documenting the “As-Is” work processes and data flows of terrorist information within DHS’s border-security and other screening programs, and on coordination of DHS plans to define improved processes. The department plans to employ automated interfaces between its systems and the Terrorist Screening Database run by the FBI.

“This project is a critical component to streamlining the information-sharing process between agencies involved in homeland security, and ultimately, providing the tools to help make the country more secure,” said Rodney Thomas, CEO of Thomas & Herbert.

T&H, founded in 1996, provides information technology and management consulting services
