GSA Seeks Comment on New Services Contract GSA is developing a new professional services contract vehicle that will cut across functional lines to cover a wide range of requirements. The multiple award contract, called Integrations, “will be designed to fulfill requirements for high-dollar value, complex, multi-disciplinary professional services with an ancillary or equal IT component,” according to a July 6 notice in FedBizOpps from the Federal Acquisition Service’s Center for Innovative Acquisition Development. The agency is seeking industry comment while the contract is in the planning stages. GSA is considering whether to set aside some task orders for small businesses or to issue two contracts, with one being a small business set-aside, according to a PowerPoint presentation accompanying the notice. The notice says the contract will include a menu of professional services such as program management and consulting, logistics, financial services, professional engineering services and IT. GSA’s announcement comes as the White House is ordering cutbacks in spending on some professional services categories. (See story above.) The Office of Management and Budget is giving increased attention to the proliferation of different and duplicative multiple award contracts across the government. GSA calls Integrations a next-generation contract. “Our goal is to create a contract vehicle that provides a total solution to agencies’ needs. We also intend to leverage the federal buying power to drive efficiencies and savings while maximizing opportunities for small businesses to participate in providing these services.” The FedBizOpps notice is Integrations_RequestForInformation. Presentations from the virtual industry day are available at www.gsa.gov/integrations. GSA is seeking comments by July 30.
