RFP-EZ: initial results are in
The “RFP-EZ” website, which is testing a new approach in federal information technology contracting for small businesses, is showing promising initial savings, according to a White House Blog entry.
The RFP-EZ platform was developed jointly by the Small Business Administration and by participants in the Presidential Innovation Fellows program.
The new website (https://rfpez.sba.gov/) was launched six months ago with five solicitations for website development and database work. Four of the contracts also were on FedBizOpps.
“On a per-project basis, bids received through RFP-EZ were consistently lower than those received through FedBizOpps—19% to 41% lower, and over 30% lower on average,” Karen Mills, SBA administrator, and Todd Park, federal chief technology officer, wrote in the blog entry.
RFP-EZ also attracted more than 270 businesses that previously had not bid on federal contracts.
