Goodbye CCR: New System Coming Online
The Central Contractor Registration and related websites will shut down May 23 as GSA begins the transition to a new, consolidated registration system over the Memorial Day weekend.
The new System for Award Management, or SAM, will go live on Tuesday, May 29. GSA says SAM will reduce the number of passwords you need to remember, reduce the number of systems you need to interact with and reduce data redundancy by sharing contractor information.
SAM will consolidate the CCR, ORCA, FedReg and Excluded Parties List System (EPLS) databases.
CCR’s search capability will remain active during the transition, but the system will not accept new information after 11:59 p.m. on May 23. If you are due to update your registrations during the down-time, GSA will extend your expiration date by 90 days. You will receive an e-mail notification when your expiration date is extended. You will receive standard e-mail reminders to update your record based on this new expiration date. Those e-mail notifications will come from SAM.
Contractors’ data will be automatically transferred to SAM. When it’s time to renew your registration, you will need to create a SAM account to validate and update your information.
