    • HUD closing field offices

    The Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Department announced a major consolidation of its field offices. Multifamily Housing’s 50 field offices will be consolidated into 10, and report to five hubs; 16 of the 80 Field Policy and Management offices will also be closed.

    The changes affect about 900 employees. HUD officials said the agency’s current structure is “not sustainable from a financial and service delivery point of view.”
