State Dept. cancels HITSS 2 buys
The State Department announced it is canceling the Hybrid Information Technology Services for State 2 (HITSS 2) acquisition vehicle.
“The Department of State is canceling this opportunity and will pursue a set-aside and/or set-asides pursuant to FAR 19.502-4 using GSA Schedule 70 at a future date,” the agency announced on the FBO.gov website.
HITSS 2, which was valued at around $2 billion, addressed information technology services.
The agency previously planned set-asides for service-disabled veteran-owned, women-owned and HUBZone small businesses.
Sources said the complexity of HITSS 2 may have contributed to its demise.
