SEWP Is Good for Small Businesses NASA has awarded contracts to 37 vendors, 21 of them small, for its SEWP IV governmentwide acquisition contract. Six of the winners are service disabled veteran owned businesses. (See list, below.) The commercial, fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts run for seven years with a maximum value of $5.6 billion for each contract. SEWP IV (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement) offers customers state-of-the-art computer technologies, high-end scientific and engineering processing capabilities, network equipment and peripherals. Some categories of work were set aside for small businesses and SDVs. NASA said SEWP charges a service fee of 0.6%, compared to 0.75% for purchases through GSA schedules, and the SEWP fee is capped at $18,000 on orders above $3 million. Agencies purchased about $750 million in goods and services through SEWP last year. The General Services Administration had sought to take over the SEWP contract, but the Office of Federal Procurement Policy ruled that NASA had managed the three previous SEWP efforts well and was offering products that did not duplicate those on other GWACs. NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, procures and manages SEWP IV. The small business winners:
