Small Firms Do Well In Open Competition

Small businesses won 23.4% of full and open competitions in fiscal 2006, according to Eagle Eye’s analysis of partial figures for the year. Eagle Eye President Paul Murphy says the finding suggests that setting aside more contracts is not the only way to improve the small business share of federal procurement.

“Small businesses on their own, in full and open competitions, more than exceed the government’s [23%] goal,” Murphy said.
