FY2019 Budget is set in deal

Vendor back pay left out

The good news for federal contractors is that the $333 billion appropriations deal approved by Congress and the president for fiscal 2019 fully funds all remaining departments and agencies through Sept. 30, meaning new projects can get started.

The deal funds the departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Homeland Security, Housing & Urban Development, Interior, Justice, State and Transportation, as well as NASA, the Small Business Administration and numerous other agencies.

The bad news is that the budget deal did not include reimbursement for low-wage federal contractors who missed paychecks during the 35-day shutdown. There was some talk of reviving that effort but no action yet.
