Recent Defense Contract Awards to Small Businesses
DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY
Forest Products Distributors, Rapid City, SD; Pelican Lumber and Export Inc., Lake Charles, LA (SPM8E6-12-D-0002); and S&S Forest Products, Boerne, TX (SPM8E6-12-D-0003), were each awarded a firm-fixed-price, total set-aside, tailored logistics support contract with a maximum $125 million to provide items under the general category of wood products. Dental Health Products, New Franken, WI, was awarded a fixed-price with economic price adjustment, IDIQ contract with a maximum $45 million for distribution of general dental supplies. There were 14 responses to the Web solicitation. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, is the contracting activity (SPM2DE-12-D-7459).
NAVY
Stemnion Inc., Pittsburgh, is being awarded an $8,346,994 cost-reimbursement contract to provide R&D services in support the Naval Medical Research Center’s cellular combat wound initiative. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Medical Logistics Command, Fort Detrick, MD, is the contracting activity (N62645-12-C-4009).
Navmar Applied Sciences Corp., Warminster, PA, is being awarded a $9,640,400 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for a Phase III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) project under Topic N04-237, “Mobile Shallow Water Antisubmarine Target System.” Work will be performed in Lexington Park, MD, Warminster, PA, and various testing locations in and outside the continental U.S. This Phase III contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302.5. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ, is the contracting activity (N68335-12-C-0003).
PKL Services Inc., Poway, CA, is being awarded a $16,186,509 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00421-09-C-0023) to exercise an option for reset organizational level maintenance on the following Marine Corps aircraft platforms: AH-1W, UH-1N, CH-53D/E, and CH-46E. Work will be performed in Camp Pendleton, CA; Jacksonville, FL; Iraq/Afghanistan; San Diego; and Kaneohe Bay, HI. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD, is the contracting activity.
Cherokee Medical Services LLC, Stilwell, OK (N62645-12-D-5016); Godwin Corp., Langley Park, MD (N62645-12-D-5017); Innovative Healthcare JV, Honolulu (N62645-12-D-5018); Magnum Opus Technologies Inc., San Antonio, TX (N62645-12-D-5019); and Professional Performance Development Group Inc., San Antonio, TX (N62645-12-D-5020), are each being awarded a firm-fixed-priced, IDIQ, multiple award task order contract to provide multi-disciplinary health care workers to support military treatment facilities in the northeast United States. The not-to-exceed amount for these contracts combined is $99,812,443 and the companies will have the opportunity to bid on each individual task order. These contracts were solicited via a multiple award electronic request for proposals as a small business set-aside; 44 offers were received. The Naval Medical Logistics Command, Fort Detrick, MD, is the contracting activity.
