Contractors Dwindle on VETS Set-Aside GWAC
GSA has exercised options for 23 companies to continue competing for work on its VETS governmentwide acquisition contract for service-disabled veteran-owned IT businesses. There were originally 44 companies on the GWAC when contracts were awarded in 2007.
Nine contractors were dropped because they failed to meet minimum sales requirements, according to Janna Babcok, the contracting officer at GSA’s Small Business GWAC Center in Kansas City, MO. An additional nine received options although they have outgrown size standards; they will be allowed to complete existing contracts but cannot compete for new work under the GWAC.
The GWAC recorded more than $1 billion in sales in its first five years. The Department of Veterans Affairs was the largest customer, accounting for nearly half the total.
Catapult Technology of Bethesda, MD, was the leading contractor with $164 million in sales.
