  • DC, MD & VA win 1/2 of all fed IT spending

The District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia accounted for half of all federal information technology contract spending in fiscal 2012, according to a new report by Deltek.

The three states together gained about $38 billion in federal IT contracts that year of a total of about $79 billion.

They also won about $28 billion in federal professional services contracts--a third of the total, Deltek reported.

Virginia received $55 billion in total federal contract awards; Maryland, $27 billion; and DC, $19 billion. Together that represented about a fifth of all federal contracts in fiscal 2012.

Other states among the top ten are CA, $52 billion; TX, $39 billion; PA, $19 billion; FL, $15 billion; MO, $15 billion; MA, $15 billion and AZ, $14 billion.
