Will there be a shutdown?
At press time, the possibility of a shutdown was rising. The current funding resolution expires on Jan. 19.
Attempts between members of Congress and President Trump to reach a budget deal this week were breaking down.
Although there is a possibility of reviving the talks by the deadline, the more likely outcome appears to be another short-term continuing resolution that would expire by Feb. 16.
