$15 min wage starts Jan. 30
A $15 minimum hourly wage for federal contractors goes into effect for all new covered contracts as well as for contract extensions, renewals and other actions starting on Jan. 30, under a final rule from the Labor Dept. in November.
It applies to contracts including those for services, construction and concessions. If workers’ wages are governed by the Fair Labor Standards Act, the rule applies only to contracts exceeding the micropurchase threshold.
